About the client
CareersPortal.ie is Ireland’s career development platform, offering guidance, learning pathways, labour-market insight, and tools that connect people with education and employment opportunities. The audience spans schools, advisers, and individuals at every stage of a career journey, so findability and trust in content matter as much as presentation.
The client needed navigation and search that could scale with a large, evolving information architecture without rewriting the entire site, modular delivery, accurate content discovery, and user experiences where findability and trust are essential.
The challenge
Deeply nested navigation routes made it hard for users to reach the right resource in fewer clicks. Search returned noisy or incomplete results, increasing drop-off when students and advisers needed quick answers during busy sessions.
The fix had to ship as a standalone micro-feature that plugged into the live CareersPortal.ie stack, no downtime, no wholesale replatform. Dev House Australia was engaged to design, build, and integrate an Angular-based solution that improved wayfinding and retrieval while respecting existing CMS and routing constraints.
